Guidelines for Requesting Funding

The Brit Fund’s mission is to introduce, encourage, and support the artistic development of people with disabilities living in the state of Maryland.

Our goal is to continue Ellene’s dream of enabling people with disabilities to think creatively and recognize their abilities—not their limitations.

Our financial support may be used for the following priorities:

  1. Purchase of art supplies and/or adaptive art tools for use by individuals with disabilities in a recognized art-oriented program*.

  2. Purchase of assistive technology devices for use by individuals with disabilities in a recognized art-oriented program.

  3. Scholarships for individuals with disabilities who need financial support to attend a recognized art-oriented program.

  4. Other purposes not listed above for which a critical need can be demonstrated and for which no other funding is available (documentation required).

* A “recognized arts-oriented program” is broadly defined as any program with a sponsoring organization such as a church, school, nonprofit agency, and so on.

Please find attached a series of questions that must be answered and submitted electronically to:

  • Class of schoolchildren, some or all of whom are eligible

  • Summer camp program

  • After-school program

  • Arts council program

  • Scout troop

  • Homeschool program

  • Nonprofit agency

Please indicate who will be entering into an agreement with us. Include the name and contact information for the person with whom we should communicate about this application. This individual will be responsible for submitting all reports to the Brit Fund Board.

Reports will be designed based on the signed agreement and must include demographic, budgetary, and programmatic information, along with measurements of participant progress.

Note: Brevity and completeness are key to a successful application. Some questions may not apply to your request.
